doing

things i want to learn or get better at:

  • human crafted coding (this website is my noob attempt)
  • interactive digital storytelling
  • free diving
  • spearfishing
  • fabrication + ceramics
  • listening (always)
  • finish things!

things i've done:

a lot of people assume i moved to brunswick heads (pop: 3000!) to work at regen. the truth is i was a burnout high achiever who ended up here by accident. while i was ~figuring things out~ this is what i was up to:

  • travelled by scoopy from java to sumbawa
  • surfed the biggest waves of my life
  • worked in a pub, a brewery, and on my parents' gardening app
  • helped deliver flood relief to families hit by the victoria floods
  • made some art, wrote some stories
  • lived in a huntsman-infested ohana in upcountry maui

then, by serendipity (and probably persistence), i met dan and tom in the northern rivers. they took a chance on me and let me come in basically unscripted to a part-time role at regen. that turned into what i do now. since then i've:

  • contributed to the evolution of regen's intellectual and creative identity as we've grown
  • conceived and wrote our physical publications (notably the manifesto), built our four-pillar thesis, and led our editorial direction
  • led and supported diligence and investment in some genuinely world-changing humans building ulysses, anthrogen, differential, hum, the electric plant company
  • co-built a no-strings fellowship program with sam, funding people pre-formation to take an idea to its most ambitious form
  • made an app that blocks out the optimal time each day to become unreachable in the ocean (the alpha is proprietary)
