hi! i'm elena.

i build+invest at onto [onto.vc] where we back founders building resonant technologies across intelligence, robotics, biology, and energy. beyond investing, i also lead our research, editorial, and creative projects.

i'm happiest spending time with ideas that are still in the process of becoming, and finding the containers, objects, or systems that let the possibilities travel further in the real world. sometimes that's an investment, other times a printed publication, a fellowship community, a physical object, a series of digital zines, or a growing number of other super secret experiments.

i currently live in the northern rivers of new south wales where i keep three chickens and a kelpie, do my best to surf every day, and regularly delude myself into believing i've won a war of attrition against my 1983 hilux. i generally like meeting people who spend their time and attention on the things they (or I) care deeply about and are okay with me chronically asking the question why, so if that's you, please feel free to say g'day :)
